Stay and Play January 2010
The ITA is proud to introduce the Stay and Play system of teaching to our younger players and beginner adults. This system ensures success from day one. Players feel like they are playing real tennis. This is most important especially to our younger players. Thank you to our Head coach Lazarus Manjoro for all the training we received last year. Lazarus was a National coach from Zimbabwe who joined the academy to raise the standard of our teaching in 2010 and assist us with the successful implementation of the Stay and play program.  This program is international adn endorsed by the ITF who now runs all training in SA. This means all staff can teach anywhere in the world once they are ITF qualified.

He assisted our staff with the implementation after successful training of the new Stay and Play program. I must admit I am still battling after 20years of coaching in a technique-orientated style. The new system is strategy based and requires a different mind set. You know what they say you cannot teach on old dog new tricks!

Masters Coach    01.05.2008
A mature and very experienced Masters coach, Sangram Banerjee, is joining our team on the 7 May from India. I look forward to his input in the business. One of his great interests is to develop players from beginner to tournament level.

Many Firsts    04.05.2008
A time of new beginnings for the ITA - We at the ITA have experienced so many new experiences over these past few weeks. We are feeling truly excited and most thankful. Firstly we advertised in a new publication, Kids Guide (also adverts in Jo’burg’s Child, Moms in Motion and on Jozikids website) and for the first time ever we had a clinic with only new pupils, no existing ITA pupils!

Secondly we ran two clinics in one week at two venues for the first time ever. Our clinic held at Lonehill Crawford Pre-preparatory school was a huge success and greatly enjoyed by all pupils who attended. We thank you for your support!

Thirdly we moved to a new venue, Pirates tennis club in Cruden Bay road, Greenside where we have 8 courts in excellent condition as well as floodlit courts. What a bonus! Pirates Tennis Club has 100 members and counting now that we have arrived. We are looking forward to a very positive, happy and fun working relationship in this wonderful new environment. Watch the press ( your local paper) for membership specials! See web link on our website.

Fourthly we ran 4 successful clinics in succession for the first time catering for both the government and private school holidays.

Last of all we hired a new Masters professional coach who is flying in especially from Sri Lanka to be a part of our team. He is probably the only Masters coach in SA at this time if not ever! He will be assisting us in many ways as well as building up Pirates as well as other new venues( there are a few in the pipeline) His expertise is to take players from beginner level to professional level as soon as possible. He will bring a whole new dimension to the ITA
